KHAMMAM: Tribal woman P Venkatamma, mother of Sarita, the girl who died after receiving human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in Duggmugudem mandal last year, has appealed to the authorities concerned to make the postmortem report of her daughter accessible to her.
Venkatamma along with several tribal women participated in a seminar against female foeticide organised by the All-India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) here on Tuesday.
Speaking to The Hindu, she alleged that her daughter, who was in perfect health condition, died soon after taking the HPV vaccine last year.
She was given the vaccine without our consent at the behest of the warden of the tribal welfare residential school in which she had studied, she said and deplored that she could not secure a copy of the postmortem report till now.
