BELGRADE — Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljević says allegations about “proteges” in the swine flue vaccine procurement are “an artificially created scandal”.
He added that this was also a “textbook example of the coherence and impact of organized crime on the media.”
The prosecutor told daily Politika that many had felt threatened by the arrest of a “pharmaceutical mafia,” because they had lost huge amount of money or, as he noted, had not earned as much as they had planned.
“Who is returning debts to whom or earning credits by inventing non-existent affairs?” asked Radisavljević.
The prosecutor said that in the cases he was in charge of he recognized the same people and also was able to make out the matrix of their work in the media, in business, in public companies, and now also in institutions.
Radisavljević added that health minister’s advisor for the fight against corruption Ljubiša Milanović, who publicly complained about the lack of support from the Organized Crime Prosecution, had not addressed the prosecution with any relevant information thus far.
