On the 26th January 2010 Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, a medical expert specialising in epidemiology and former Chair of the Sub-committee on Health of the European Parliamentary Assembly, made a statement about the handling of the H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic to the Social, Health and Family Affairs Committee of the Council of Europe.
In this statement Wodarg questioned how it can have been that the world was thrown into panic by the World Health Organization calling a flu outbreak a ‘pandemic’ – when there were still only “a mere 1000 of cases”. These questions were in the light of an estimated revenue of 18 Billion Dollars made by pharmaceutical companies due to the resulting world-wide vaccination program.
2009 saw the re-release of a show from 30 years ago, in 1979, when Norman Gorin presented his investigation into the swine flu scare of 1976 on ’60 Minutes’. The program included an interview with Dr. David Sensor who was head of the Center of Disease Research (CDC) and who devised and organized the flu vaccination for North America starting from the 1st October 1976.
