Polarity
[Sanevax: An honest scientific debate is no place for name-calling. Ostracizing parents who have questions about vaccines will do nothing to solve the problems theoretically caused by their ‘non-compliance’ with vaccine recommendations. Public relations sound-bites will not make vaccine-injured children healthy. The time for scientific investigation is long past. The human race does not need another disaster similar to the one caused by over-use of antibiotics. We need to learn when medications are necessary and when they are not, before it is too late.]
Vaccination – Human Necessity or Dangerous Ritual?
By Markus Heinze
We all heard it many times: ‘if you don’t get all the shots for your child you are endangering him or her. Vaccines are the best medical intervention of modern medicine miraculously shielding your child from an illness that could potentially harm or kill your child’. We all agree that children have a right to be protected from harm. But there’s a huge body of information that indicates that vaccinations are dangerous. An even larger amount of information indicates that vaccines leave your child’s immune system weakened and incapable of fighting an illness as it is intended to do naturally. Furthermore, evidence suggests that vaccines do not protect your child from disease but causing unpredictable illnesses.
WHAT IS VACCINATION?
The thinking behind vaccination is that if the person gets a “minor” case of the disease under the “controlled” conditions of vaccination, she will produce her own antibodies to the disease agent, and this will confer immunity because her immune system will remember what the “bad bug” looks like. The next time the bug shows up, immune defense cells will be ready to kill it. But there is no general agreement that this truly happens as a result of vaccination.
SHOTS OFFER NO IMMUNITY
Vaccination does not guarantee immunity or protection from illness. Natural immunity happens only after one recovers from the actual disease. During the disease, the microorganism usually has to pass through many of the body’s natural immune defense systems—in the nose, throat, lungs, digestive tract and lymph tissue—before it reaches the bloodstream. As it does, the microorganism triggers many biological events that are essential in building true natural immunity. When a child gets a new disease, he may feel sick for several days, but, in the vast majority of cases, he will recover.
UNPROVEN ASSUMPTIONS
Researchers like Alan Phillips, author of Dispelling Vaccination Myths, say that “natural immunity is a complex phenomenon involving many organs and systems; it cannot be fully replicated by the artificial stimulation of antibody production.” Vaccination by direct injection is based on the unproven assumption that the mere artificial stimulation of antibodies by the sudden presence of a foreign agent in the bloodstream confers immunity.
