Teenage girls may develop an overwhelming fear of school-based vaccinations such as Gardasil because of a ‘domino-effect’ that magnifies the fears of others when large groups are being vaccinated in one session.
Girls who saw their classmates sobbing, screaming and fainting while waiting for vaccination also developed similar reactions, which in some cases resulted in some refusing vaccination, a study from NSW has found.
