The Government is set to promise to match millions of pounds in donations by businesses to fund vaccines against illnesses for children in the developing world.
Up to £50 million of public money will be set aside for the scheme, with the Government matching business donations up to that amount, the Department for International Development (Dfid) said.
Chancellor George Osborne will host a breakfast meeting with private companies that he hopes may want to get involved in the so-called “matching fund”.
International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell said: “It is an international disgrace that three children die every minute from diseases that children in Britain are immunised against as a matter of course.
